	Postira (island of Brac) Postira is a picturesque fisherman's village and the island of Brac port. Its name originates from the Latin name pastura, as ground in the village hinterland is very fertile. Postira is mentioned for the first time in 1347. It was established in 16th by migrated Dol inhabitants who in fact were run over Poljice inhabitants. Good geographic position as well as the spring water was the reason of quick inhabitation of this area.

	Split Split is the heart of Dalmatia, so it's the perfect place to take terrific day trips to discover the wonderful offshore islands of Solta, Brac, Hvar or Vis as well as the ancient Roman capital of Salona; Klis Fortress; Krka National Park and lovely Skradin; the pirate stronghold of Omiš and Trogir (another UNESCO site) - all less than two hours away! You can even take a jet boat to Italy in 4.5 hours or an overnight ferry to Rijeka and Istria or down to Dubrovnik.
